i have started doing a concentrated time with Lo each afternoon where we work on one of the following:
-sorting
-letters
-numbers
-Bible
-life works
-craft
(i am thinking of adding Spanish too)
this has been after naps, for about 20 minutes. that is about all the attention span she has right now and then we move on...(usually to dumping blocks out everywhere, chasing the dog around the house or talking on our calculator "phones".)
nonetheless, it has been pretty cool to see just how her little mind is working. she's a thinker.
I LOVE this, Pam! As a soon-to-be-mommy and as a children's minister, this post made me smile. Especially the Bible stuff. Have you by chance picked up a copy of the Jesus Storybook Bible? It is FABULOUS for young and old children. I have found many toddlers who are absolutely captivated by it, and it might be my favorite Children's Spirituality resource.
ReplyDeletelove it! her little corner table is really cute. does she like the sorting work? are those cut up straws? good idea.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! And 20 minutes is pretty good for her age. Love that little table. Wish we had one. :)
ReplyDeleteB,
ReplyDeleteI cut up pipe cleaners.
I was inspired by my visit with you!
